White vinegar is often produced using the alcohol liquid fermentation process. Due to the complexity of the fermentation process, many by-products are generated, such as macromolecular pigments and colloidal impurities, resulting in poor transparency of the vinegar. After prolonged storage, it may become cloudy.
Traditional diatomite filtration can only achieve temporary clarification. Because the filter cake layer formed by diatomite is uneven, and due to differences in operators' visual standards, it is highly likely that the filtered product will develop sediment after storage. To decolorize fermented white vinegar and prepare colorless white vinegar, traditional flocculants and activated carbon can achieve some decolorization effect, but they cannot completely remove pigments.
